I am currently a police officer with the Radford University Police Department in Radford, Virginia.  Radford University, of which I am proud to be an alumni, is located on the New River in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Southwest Virginia with a student population of just under 10,000.  The Radford University Police Department is a full-service, sworn, accredited law enforcement agency serving the University community.  My department has one of the largest bicycle patrol units, which I am a member of, of most departments in the area.  The R.U.P.D. was the first university/college law enforcement agency in the Commonwealth of Virginia to be accredited by the Virginia Law Enforcement Professional Standards Commission.
